“The community theater of filmmaking.”

Boston Collaborative Cinema (BCC) is a first-of-its-kind film production entity, born out of the ethos of community theater; it unites passionate talent and shared resources to create compelling motion pictures. Rooted in the tradition of the timeless films and series that were once the lifeblood of Hollywood, BCC fosters a devoted community dedicated to preserving and evolving the craft of cinematic storytelling.

Founded by filmmaker Anthony Houhoulis, BCC tells timeless stories that explore the depths of the human condition, drawing predominantly from the rich talent pool of the Greater Boston and New England region, while collaborating with creatives from across the globe.

Committed to crafting marketable, major motion picture-style narratives with a keen eye on quality, the organization strives to partner with the most skilled and dedicated creatives to bring these compelling stories to life.

Film is a notoriously cumbersome art form. Unlike writing and painting, it takes the coming together of many people, and many moving parts, to bring a project to completion. Between the accessibility of filmmaking equipment, and the market pressures gradually forcing original stories and cinematic craft out of Hollywood, BCC seeks to preserve this timeless art form and bridge its storied past to the vibrant possibilities of 21st century filmmaking.

What’s possible for collaborative cinema?

The following is a no-budget pilot made by BCC founder Anthony Houhoulis. He was a one-man crew using his own gear and free locations. This is the baseline for what’s possible with minimal support. With this as the bare minimum for BCC, the sky is the limit.
